The New Year Approaches

December 31, 2007

Dear Friends and Fellow Photogs,

As we approach the fast coming year of 2008, we are preparing to take Lumedyne to the next level and in doing so, we are going to be bringing you a variety of new products and services to help you advance your photography career.  It is our New Years Resolution to create better photographers by teaching you what you need to know, and helping you choose the right equipment

The first project we have planned for you is a 5 part mini-series on planning out your photography career. This series will include information on how to choose the right field of photography for you, and, the equipment you will need to achieve the most beautiful pictures you can find, ways to market yourself as a professional photographer, ways to market stock photos for extra money, and of course, other sources of revenue that you can create from your camera.

This 5 part series will be available on January 2, 2008 and will be our very first New Years Gift to you.  We strongly recommend that you visit often to keep getting our gifts throughout 2008.  We are aiming to make you the best photographer you can be in 2008.   Stay tuned.

New York City Photo and Video Shoot Permits

December 28, 2007

Getting Ready For the NYC Photo Shoot and..

PERMITS….. AHHHH

As we prepare for next month’s New York City Photo Shoot, we have started the process of pulling the permits for a street photography shoot and street videography shoots.

Here is some of the information we discovered that we need to get these permits. If you ever want to do a photo shoot or video shoot in NYC, here are some important things you need to know…

1.) Street Photography is pretty easy. It’s a simple one page form and it can be found at
http://www.nyc.gov/html/film/html/permits/still_photography.shtml
It’s a fairly easy form to fill out, there is no fee and it can be mailed or faxed in.

2.) A permit for videography, on the other hand, is a bit more complicated, and requires more forms.

First, you need the Motion Picture Television Permit, which you can find at
http://www.nyc.gov/html/film/html/permits/tv_permit.shtml

Next, you need, The Schedule A form for to list your locations and special requests.

Third, you will need a Dropp/Add form if you need to request parking privileges.

And Fourth and finally, you need the Keys To The City Information regarding insurance, find this here at http://www.nyc.gov/html/film/pdf/keys%20to%20the%20city%20Nov%202007.pdf

A very IMPORTANT NOTE: For the Videography Permit, the forms must be either brought in in person or Fed Ex’d over.

We are glad to be able to keep you up to date on information like this. Thanks for visiting.
